The Ocean consortium is coordinated by Fraunhofer. By bringing together organisations from Germany, France, Italy and Japan, the OCEAN project will have a positive impact in the open cloud community.

Fraunhofer – the coordinator of OCEAN – is the biggest organisation for applied research in Europe. Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems representing Fraunhofer in the consortium is a recognised expert in testing and interoperability issues including the cloud computing domain.

The global open source infrastructure software community, OW2 contributes to the OCEAN consortium with its world-class technical infrastructure, extensive experience in information sharing, outreach communication, business ecosystem building and conference organizing.

A strong industrial partner for OCEAN, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica SpA, (ENG) is a major System Integrator and Cloud provider with presence in Europe, Latin America and Middle East. The ENG R&D; lab has a long experience in European funded Projects and is pivotal for the technology innovation of the entire group.

Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) is a key OCEAN partner for collaboration with Japanese IT industry and academic research projects is Independent Administrative Agency funded by Japanese government to promote Japan’s IT strategies through improving the quality of software development and nurturing Japanese IT human resources.
